Goals:
Our program focuses on preparation for transition,
management of transition and follow-up after transition.
Our goals will embrace the primary goals, objectives and
deliverables in relation to those of the Office of Juvenile Justice.
Program goals, objectives and activities will fulfill the
following purposes:
1)
Providing basic life-skills to include consumer education, education
and budgeting skills, credit use, housekeeping skills, planning a
food menu, food preparation and safety skills, as well as parenting
skills.
2)
Assisting youth in building interpersonal skills by assisting youth
in improving his methods of communicating.
3)
Providing services to the resident’s family or guardian (when
appropriate) in ability to form positive relationships with peers
and adults.
4)
Providing skills for effective decision making and stress
management.
5)
Assisting youth with accessing educational opportunities and/or
vocational training.
6)
Providing job preparation skills and assisting youth in attaining
job placement.
7)
Providing skills to youth to prevent, treat and reduce substance
abuse issues.
8)
Providing counseling to address mental health care needs.
9)
Providing services to ensure that the resident’s physical health
care needs are in order to facilitate the successful reintegration
of the youth into the community.
